Why Petra Diamonds is Facing British Justice

On the day of its AGM, will investors and shareholders question Petra Diamonds’ human rights record? The company is facing legal action by UK law firm Leigh Day at the British High Court on behalf of more than 30 Tanzanian victims who say they suffered serious human rights abuses by security personnel at the Williamson Mine.

Consumers deserve to know how their jewellery is being sourced, and who suffers in the process. Unethically sourced diamonds do not symbolise love. Petra Diamonds should put a stop to the human rights abuses and remedy the harm caused.
